SC: Chainzaw's Biography by DragonOfCourage

GAMEPLAY INFO:

Special Abilities:

  • Chainsaw Spin: HCF + MA (He spins himself like a tornado with his chainsaw towards his opponent.)
  • Dirty Trick: QCF + HA (He does a football kick, which releases dust from the ground to his opponent.)
  • Saw-Dive: HCB + LA (He dives himself and uses his chainzaw to trip his opponent.)
  • Wheel Saw: QCB + MA (He hops upwards to do a cartwheel spin with his chainsaw before he lands with a downward slash to his opponent.)
  • Stompin' Like Rollins: D, U + HA (He descends down and does Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp to his opponent, stomping him/her to the ground. Air move only.)

Superdrive:

Full Pressure: Chainzaw raises his weapon and presses a red button which allows the blade to spin in high speed as he says "Try to suck at this!", speeding up his attacks at 5%. His visual update shows his chainsaw overheating as a result of the red button.

Powered Charges:

  • Saw From Above: QCB, HCF + HA (He jumps very high and then dives out of nowhere to his opponent, impaling him/her with his chainzaw until it cleaves to the ground before he pulls it off. His Superdrive version, adds five kicks to his downed opponent savagely, with the last one sending him/her farther.)
  • Chainsaw Hurricane: HCFx2 + MA (He spins himself like a tornado with his chainsaw while generating a whirlwind that attracts his opponent, slashing him/her ten times. His Superdrive version, allows you to move his spinning maneuver freely and adds a final diagonal slash after the tenth attack.)

Ultimate Charge:

Frenzy Saw Insanity*: QCFx2 + HA (The background turns into a dark blue hexagon pattern with his emblem appearing in the center for a while as he prepares by rising his chainsaw as he says "Insanity awaits!" before he swings it with a downward slash to his opponent. Once it connects, the background turns black as he insanely runs towards his opponent, who just gets up. Then he starts to run towards his opponent before he spins his chainsaw like crazy as he slashes his opponent many times before he kicks him/her in the groin, kneeling down. Then he impales him/her with his weapon in his/her abdomen off-screen, until he slashes him/her upwards, complete with a dramatic "cut-in-two" effect without actually... being cut in two due to the T Rating, falling him/her down to death. After the attack, he just smirks before he says "What a weakling waste of time!". If done against Venomica, he screams "NOOOOOOOOOO! What I have done?" in agony after realizing he just killed his lover before he kneels himself. If done against any hero, he thumbs down his dead opponent as he says "One hero less! Many more to go!". If done against Greed-O-Crazy, he immediately shouts of victory as he says "No more government! Anarchy rules!" before he rises his free fist like John Bender's final scene from The Breakfast Club.)

  • Voice Actor: Ryan Carter (English), Kohei Murakami (Japanese), Luis Fernando Orozco (Latin American Spanish)
  • Intro Sequence: Chainzaw runs with his chainsaw upwards before he stands as he says "You can run, but you can't escape from me!" before he goes to his fighting stance.
  • Victory Sequence: Chainzaw spits the floor before he wipes his mouth with his free hand before he says "One victim down! Who's next?". Then he runs towards the camera while holding his weapon like a maniac.
  • Stage: Criminal Slums (Stage Transitions: Yes)

Stage Transitions:

  • The Ghetto: Located at the left corner of the stage. The transition starts when the victim gets sent flying upwards before he gets smashed to four building walls in zig-zag and then falls to the rooftop. Afterwards, the victim gets up as the player appears at the right side, continuing with the fight.
  • The Rooftop: Located at the right corner of the stage. The transition starts when a wrecking ball smashes the victim before he/she falls down to the slums. He/she gets up, only to realize that a police car knocks him/her back to the ghetto via white flickering effect. Afterwards, the victim gets up as the player appears at the left side, continuing with the fight.

Simon Phillips is a crook who lives in the slums of Wonder City. Orphaned since he was a baby, he got raised by a former supervillain who hated Major Megapower's guts and got as a gift a chainsaw once he grow up. He was enlisted to the Supervillain Resistance upon hearing that the new mayor of the city, Emilio Pastrana, is outlawing every superbeing, including the supervillains themselves. With nothing but complete chaos in his mind, he nicknames himself as Chainzaw in order to destroy the corrupt system and bring anarchy to the city.

Stage 4 Interlude - VS. Techno-Hacker

Pre-Fight Cutscene:

(Scene takes place in Techno-Hacker's lair inside the Techno-Labs. Chainzaw enters to it and talks with Techno-Hacker.)
Techno-Hacker: "Welcome back, Simon..."
Chainzaw: "Do you have any upgrades for my weapon?"
Techno-Hacker: "Sorry to say that... but my technology will be used to make those fools of The Team to surrender by my might!"
Chainzaw: "I need upgrades, you cheap fool!"
Techno-Hacker: "No... as your superior, you must obey to me!"
Chainzaw: "Listen... I don't have time for this stupidity!"
Techno-Hacker: "No one threatens the leader of the Supervillain Resistance!"
Chainzaw: "Are you cooperating with me or I'll kill you!"
(Chainzaw turns on his weapon and threatens Techno-Hacker, which the latter simply pushes him back to the square one.)
Techno-Hacker: "Insubordinate me and I'll mark you for death!" *prepares his fighting stance*
Chainzaw: "Mark my words, I... serve... no one!"

After Match Cutscene:

(Chainzaw cuts Techno-Hacker's metallic tentacles in process, falling them down.)
Techno-Hacker: "Why are you doing this?"
Chainzaw: "You can take this stupid Supervillain Resistance and shove it! I quit!"
Techno-Hacker: "No one leaves the Supervillain Resistance, Simon!"
Chainzaw: "Of course I will..."
(Chainzaw turns on his weapon and attempts to kill Techno-Hacker, but Venomica intervened.)
Venomica: "Simon, stop!"
Chainzaw: "Techno-Hacker refused to upgrade my weapon, so I considered killing him!"
Venomica: "You shouldn't! Let him live!"
Chainzaw: "Never, my love!"
(Suddenly, Techno-Hacker's remaining metallic tentacle hits Chainzaw, falling the criminal to the ground.)
Techno-Hacker: "Chainzaw! For your insubordination and murder attempt against your own superior... you no longer serve the Supervillain Resistance!"
Venomica: "How dare you to harm my lover... I quit too!"
Techno-Hacker: "Fine then! And don't ever return... but I'll warn you their deaths will await soon!"
(Chainzaw gets up as Venomica goes closer to him. Somehow, three robotic microchips attempt to implant in the heads of both Chainzaw, Venomica and Techno-Hacker, but the Resistance leader breaks two of the three, as the last one successfully implants in the crook's head without noticing.)
Venomica: "Let's get out of here, love!"
Chainzaw: "Of course, my Vero..." *to Techno-Hacker* "And I give you one last message: Screw you, Techno-Hacker!"
(Both Chainzaw and Venomica leave the scene as Techno-Hacker gets enraged by the insubordination of his former comrades.)
Techno-Hacker: "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

Stage 7 Interlude - VS. Valiant Schoolgirl

Pre-Fight Cutscene:

(Scene takes place in the Hallway of Les Saisons Academy. Valiant Schoolgirl is talking with Kuautemok, the latter via communicator.)
Valiant Schoolgirl: "My class time is over... I must return to the headquarters so we can plan a strategy to counter Emilio Pastrana's Anti-Superpowered Program."
Kuautemok (via communicator): "Good luck with the mission, cariño!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "See you soon, mon amour!"
(Just when Valiant Schoolgirl finishes talking with Kuautemok. An alarm sound a la Megaman X is heard three times, indicating an intrusion.)
Valiant Schoolgirl: "What's going on?"
(Turns out a wall gets broken as we see how two security guard's corpses are thrown in front of her before Chainzaw enters to the scene.)
Valiant Schoolgirl: "Chainzaw!"
Chainzaw: "Hello, my lovely!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "For your information, I have a boyfriend!"
Chainzaw: "Take it with sarcasm, Judy Hopps!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "I'm not a talking animal, you jerk!"
Chainzaw: "I heard you want to take a certain "dictator" down."
Valiant Schoolgirl: "That's not of your business, criminal!"
(Both are first walking in circles for a while before they stand in the square one.)
Chainzaw: *turns on his weapon* "Enough talk, lady and let's play... the game of death!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: *equips her school utilities* "I'll arrest you for your crimes, Simon!"

After Match Cutscene:

(Chainzaw walks closer to Valiant Schoolgirl and appoints his chainsaw to her neck.)
Chainzaw: "Any last words?"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "You will never bring chaos to Wonder City, Simon!"
Chainzaw: "So be it!"
(Just when Chainzaw attempts to impale Valiant Schoolgirl, she counters it with pepper spray from her gloves, temporally irritating his eyes before he dissipates the effects as the French heroine gets up.)
Valiant Schoolgirl: "Tell me the reason for it?"
Chainzaw: "We got an enemy in common, Emilio Pastrana."
Valiant Schoolgirl: "Or as I call him: Greed-O-Crazy! He declared us superbeings as outlawed!"
Chainzaw: "You got the idea! We are not different after all!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "But that doesn't excuse you to go on a killing spree in daily basis."
Chainzaw: "At least I admit it... Not every villain must be a coward."
Valiant Schoolgirl: "If you say so, please turn yourself to jail."
Chainzaw: "For what? To rot myself behind bars for the rest of my life?"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "The police force in Wonder City is corrupt, but you must abide to my personal brand of law according to the rules of The Team."
(Chainzaw thinks for a while until he takes a decision. It's when an helicopter shows up behind him and hops to it. Valiant Schoolgirl attempts to run but ends up falling due to the injuries sustained in her body.)
Chainzaw: "We like to talk later... but I must go! I got a corrupt mayor to kill!"
Valiant Schoolgirl: "Wait a minute! I haven't finished with you!"
Chainzaw: "You should go to the cybernetic hospital! Once you are fixed at 100%, you can fight me all the times you want!"
(Chainzaw leaves the scene with the helicopter as Valiant Schoolgirl watches him with rage in her eyes.)
Valiant Schoolgirl: "I HATE YOU, CHAINZAW!"

Mid-Boss Cutscene:

(Scene takes place in The Mayor's Office. The doors are open as Chainzaw is entering while Greed-O-Crazy gets enraged to see him.)
Greed-O-Crazy: "What do you offer here, you freak?"
Chainzaw: "Emiliano Pastrana... your days as the mayor are counted!"
Greed-O-Crazy: "Yours are the ones who will end instead!"
Chainzaw: "For what reason, corrupt politician?"
Greed-O-Crazy: "I implanted a bomb within your head without noticing."
Chainzaw: "What dirty method did to me, idiot?"
Greed-O-Crazy: "A robotic microchip invented by my faithful technology experts."
Chainzaw: "And you attempted to do the same to my fellow comrades?"
Greed-O-Crazy: "Not only them, I also ordered more of these microchips to do the same to those superpowered freaks of The Team, but both factions destroyed my precious things!"
Chainzaw: "Then I'm going to kill you and only you!"
(Greed-O-Crazy gets up from his seat, presses a button to summon a powered armor for him to wear, and starts to walk to the square one.)
Greed-O-Crazy: "You know what... I'm getting fed up for your insolence!"
Chainzaw: "Don't ever try to grab the detonator or otherwise..."
Greed-O-Crazy: "¡Tú cabeza será explotada, pedazo de basura callejera!" (Translation: "Your head will be exploded, piece of street garbage!")
(Both assume their fighting stances.)

Sub-Boss Cutscene:

(Greed-O-Crazy is defeated but he gets up easily.)
Greed-O-Crazy: "For what reason are you going to kill me, low-life thug?"
Chainzaw: "Anarchy is what this city needs! Your death is only the beginning of my vision of a world without corruption!"
Greed-O-Crazy: "No! My city needs order and you will never break the system, you freak!"
Chainzaw: "You're the freak in first place for trying to kill me and my fellow Resistance comrades!"
Greed-O-Crazy: "¡Suficiente! (Translation: Enough!) I'm going to detonate the bomb implanted in your head right now!" *grabs a detonator and attempts to press the button*
????: "Too late!"
Greed-O-Crazy: "Oh no!"
(A white energy ray is coming somewhere and it hits Greed-O-Crazy, effectively dissintegrating him to death via black silhouette before the camera returns to normal. The detonator falls to the mat before getting destroyed when a blue boot crushes it.)
Chainzaw: "Who's there?"
(And it turns out, the one who did it, turns out it's Major Megapower, whom everyone thought he was dead, but in reality, he's alive and well. He shows up to scene.)
Major Megapower: "Searching for me, disciple of Riotamonium?"
Chainzaw: "Yes, I do! You do know him?"
Major Megapower: "The chainsaw you wield belonged to him, the one who's in jail during the peaceful period of the city by yours truly."
Chainzaw: "That's a present for me, you stupid death cheater!"
Major Megapower: "I survived the attack from someone who's the true responsible of the terrorist attack."
Chainzaw: "No need for explanations! Your head will be mine!"
Major Megapower: "You dare to attack me, like your master?"
Chainzaw: "Of course I do!"
(Major Megapower tackles Chainzaw and grabs his arm while he goes flying with him to an abandoned observatory. Later, we cut to both of them landing to scene.)
Major Megapower: "Attacking a public figure like me is lack of respect!"
Chainzaw: "I don't care about respect, not-so dead man!"
Major Megapower: "This is your last chance, Simon! Surrender now or I'll resorting you to heroic brutality!"
Chainzaw: "Here's the last message I'm sending to you: I never surrender!"
(Both assume their fighting stances.)

Final Boss Cutscene:

(Major Megapower is trying to get up.)
Major Megapower: "You will not get away with this!"
Chainzaw: "Hah! You're old news now once I finish you!"
Major Megapower: "Wait a minute! This is not what you think!"
(Just as Chainzaw attempts to kill Major Megapower, the screen turns Major Megapower's death scream followed by blood splattering sounds by an unknown force before it retuns back to normal with Chainzaw being disgusted.)
Chainzaw: "Aww, man! I almost got him!"
????: "Do you realize that killing will not solve the problem?"
Chainzaw: "And yet you killed my best target!"
(Major Megapower's corpse [whose gory hole in the back is not shown on-screen] starts to dissolve into ashes and then we are treated with a black substance, and forming from it, is Xenozydos.)
Xenozydos: "You do have a point! By the way, I am Xenozydos, mastermind of the biggest catastrophe you're witnessing now!"
Chainzaw: "Hah! I don't care about that catastrophe, because I should be the one doing it!"
Xenozydos: "What a jerk! Not because you're raised in a poor place doesn't mean you act so disrespectful!"
Chainzaw: "And look who's talking! Nice try lecturing me in every way!"
Xenozydos: "Have you wonder why you like to kill people with this weapon you're wielding?"
Chainzaw: "I have a good reason to do, piece of trash! It's what every serial killer does!"
Xenozydos: "But the citizens you are killing frequently... are not what you think."
Chainzaw: "Stop bablling or I will cut you to pieces!"
Xenozydos: "The people you kill... are homunculi, and you are sending their energy with each death to the Overlord for its coming!"
(Chainzaw gets angry for Xenozydos' words.)
Chainzaw: "This means... I'm screwed all along! Why you told me this now?"
Xenozydos: "And you have no choice than to pick two options: Join me in my personal war game and help the Overlord devour the life source of the entire planet... or die refusing my offer. There's no middle ground."
(Chainzaw ponders for a while before he takes a decision.)
Chainzaw: "Never! I refuse to join your inhuman act of treachery!"
Xenozydos: "Hypocrite!"
(Xenozydos turns the abandoned observatory into an eldritch area filled with all things Lovecraftian, and above them, is the Overlord of the area, complete with a watching eye.)
Xenozydos: "Humans are flawed with the will to each other, and you are not exception."
Chainzaw: "At last I'm still a human, unlike you worthless scum!"
Xenozydos: "And because of that, you will be exterminated soon, Chainzaw!"
(The final battle begins as both assume their fighting stances.)

Ending:

(The scene returns to the abandoned observatory as Chainzaw smirks after his battle with Xenozydos. Notice that his chainzaw is tainted with black blood, indicating his killing of the inhuman master.)
Chainzaw ignored the warning of Xenozydos regarding the coming of the Overlord and went with his murderous way against the inhuman, killing him in an instant.
Chainzaw: "Only I deserve to cause terror in the city!"
(Later, we see Chainzaw preparing his weapon in the Lovecraft-altered Criminal Slums as the citizens reveal their true forms as black substanced creatures.)
However, his words are wrong. The Ancient Ones corrupted Wonder City and the Homunculi are grouping themselves in their revenge against the anarchist.
Chainzaw: "What happened to my potential victims? Are they really like that?"
(He then starts to cut the homunculi in half with his weapon and then escapes after revealing that some of them are regenerating for his bad luck.)
Regardless, Chainzaw maintains his villainous valor and is planning something to undo the Overlord's coming... without looking on the consequences soon.
Chainzaw: "Nothing will stop me from interrupting my anarchist vision of this city... nothing!"
(The screen fades black after the ending.)

(Ki:Theory's "Enjoy the Silence" starts playing as the credits which background is a blue wall with hexagon patterns with the emblems of the characters showing up at once while the credits are rolling.)

Meet the second character (as well as the first one for the villains) of Superpowered Catastrophe: Chainzaw. Abandoned since his birth and raised by an infamous street gang boss who hated Major Megapower in the past, he will kill anyone who stands against his anarchist viewpoint. For his bad luck, killing civilians (who are Homunculi in reality) is not a good idea, because anyways, their lifeforce are sent to the Overlord, causing its unsealing. Nice Job Fixing It, Villain, indeed!

Biggest inspiration: Rancid from Time Killers.

Voice acting notes:
  • English: Ryan Carter portrayed Heckyl in Power Rangers: Dino Supercharge.
  • Japanese: Kohei Murakami portrayed Masato Kusaka/Kamen Rider Kaixa in Kamen Rider Faiz. Interesting enough, both Chainzaw and Kusaka are huge jerks.
  • Latin American Spanish: Luis Fernando Orozco is known for voicing Connie D'Amico/Red Mist (portrayed by Christopher Mintz-Plasse) in the Kick @$$ film series based on the comic books of the same name, Toshiro Hitsugaya in Bleach, Lance in Voltron: Legendary Defender, Chase Randall/Dino Charge Black Ranger (portrayed by James Davies) in Power Rangers: Dino (Super)Charge, Percy Jackson (portrayed by Logan Lerman) in the two book-based films of the same name, Matthew Patel (portrayed by Satya Bahba) in the live-action Scott Pilgrim vs. The World film, Rakan in League of Legends, Maxwell Dillon/Electro in the Spider-Man videogame of 2018 and Ea in Dragon Ball Super. I love his mohawk, but I don't like his methods.
